Meet our Team!

Marc Garside has been a percussion educator for over 20 years. His primary focus in that time has been marching percussion. He has performed in DCI and DCA, and since then he has taught and designed shows for several award winning programs. These include: The Caballeros, The White Sabers, Penn State Indoor Drumline, Williamsport High School, Shikellamy High School, Lake Lehman High School, and several others. Currently Marc is the Program Coordinator and drill designer for Fusion Core competing in DCA.

Marc started EPIC in 2013 when he started giving a handful of students lessons out of his house. Since then, EPIC has changed locations 3 times and has grown to over 60 students and 6 instructors.

Mike Wrench has been an EPIC educator for many years now. Shortly after we moved into our second location (the first one you could find from street level) Mike came crashing through the doors almost as soon as we opened. He's been an integral part of our team and one of our lead educators ever since.

He is the founder of Upbeat Outreach where he goes beyond general percussion education and also provides music therapy. Mike is the drummer for Cass and the Bailout Crew, and has also performed and recorded with many bands. He is endorsed by DW drums, Dream Cymbals, Prologix, Remo, Vater, Vratim, Randall May Innovations, Cymbolt, Humes and Berg, Big Fat Snare Drum, and Cymbolt.

Tom Nelson has a degree in music and was formerly the band director at Liberty High School. However, due to the success of his band Tusk, Tom now gigs for a living.

When he's not out performing for crowds in the thousands on the weekends, during the week he's teaching lessons at EPIC Percussion.

Ryan Pritchard has been a percussion educator, composer, and artist for over 20 years. He has a Masters in Music from Mansfield University. Ryan currently performs with the Williamsport Symphony and is a Pearl/Adams artist. He performed as a snare drummer with the Bluecoats and Spectrum Drum and Bugle Corps, and was a snare drummer in the Bluecoats Alumni Corps in 2022. He has also taught and designed for the award winning Williamsport High School drumline.

Shorty after EPIC was founded, Ryan came on board and motivated EPIC's growth and evolution into what it is today. He brings not only musical expertise and knowledge, but his experience in business has proven to be the key to our growth and expansion into the retail realm.

Zach Nash was a member of the award winning Williamsport High School percussion section when he was in school, and he was a part of the first generation of EPIC students. Zach was a member of the White Sabers Drum and Bugle Corps where he played timpani and mallet percussion. Zach has been an instructor, ensemble coordinator, and arranger for the front ensemble at the award winning Williamsport High School percussion section. He is now the front ensemble coordinator for Fusion Core. Zach is a very busy guy, when he's not teaching marching band, drum corps, and lessons at EPIC, he also owns and operates his own coffee and baked goods business, Cups and Cakes

Ben Schmouder was a student at EPIC Percussion for several years, and a member of the multiple Atlantic Coast Champion percussion section at Williamsport High School when he was in high school. He's now a student at Lycoming College studying history, and he also performs with Fusion Core on marimba.
