The PCX21 are constructed with blue hytrel material balls. This rubber-like material are great for subtle passages on the xylophone, and aggressive upper-range work on the marimba. The shaft is has two zones, with the grip zone left natural and unlacquered to ensure the player is always in control - resulting in less slippage in the hands - which also means less blisters.
